Hello, I'm Emily, it's so nice to meet you! I'm a multi-passionate person, serial entreprenuer, and believer in collaboration. I'm always up for any creative challenge, and one of my greatest passions is working with other amazing people.
I've had many jobs in the art and design realm since graduating in 2005 with my degree in Fine Arts, including studio assistant to a local KC artist, art teacher for grades K-8, and starting and owning multiple small businesses, such as emmy-ray design studio, The Bloom Academy, Middle of the Map Weddings, The Blog Guild, and Hazel & Ollie.
Next to my family, and friends, flowers are one of the great loves of my life. I always enjoyed them (as most anyone does), but after doing my own wedding flowers in 2008, I discovered a true passion for them. I created beautiful floral designs for weddings and events for 8 years, and now I teach others how to create their own beautiful arrangments via The Bloom Academy.
Working with other amazing creatives really fuels my fire, so styling is something that inspires me and helps me thrive! Whether it's a gorgeous arrangement for a magazine shoot, prop styling for product photography, or full on event decor, I think that a keen design eye can help tell a story, and floral styling helps enhance the beauty of any space or product.
In 2014 I experienced on of the biggest, and best changes to my personal and business life, the birth of my daughter Eleanor Pearl. As a handmaker of things I of course did many projects for her nursery. These projects eventually involved into my latest business endeavor Hazel & Ollie, where I create decor, apparel, and accessories for modern, cool kiddos and their grown-ups.
Thank you so much for stopping in to find out more about emmy-ray design studio. I so look forward to working with you!
